Property Description:
This home sits on the one of the most amazing locations in all of South Lake Tahoe. Sitting high on the hill in a private cul-de-sac, this brand new, ultra-custom home will impress even the most particular of buyers. Most home buyers come to South Lake Tahoe to get away from city life, to have a place away from the hustle and bustle, a place with no neighbors on a decent size plot of land. This home offers both. This custom beauty sits on a 3/4 acre parcel that’s almost completely surrounded by forestry owned land. The views are nearly 360 and run from Mt. Tallac, across Echo Summit, passed Kirkwood in the distance, ending all the way around to Heavenly ski resort. What until you see Mt. Tallac with its snow filled cross fill your great room windows. Pictures do not do it justice.
Never fear, this is not just a typical monster home that takes advantage of precious utilities. Energy was taken into sincere consideration with a 98% radiant in-floor heating system that goes through the entire home and oversized garage. Each area of the home is zoned differently for maximum efficiency and/or climate options for each individual staying in one of the 6 spacious bedrooms. Of course, there’s still 4 separate gas fireplaces to set the atmosphere on those snowy winter nights.
This is a spacious, 4-story home, but for those with a distaste for walking up stairs, don’t worry, take the elevator from the garage with all the groceries and all of your luggage. If you’ve just come in from the cold and a long day of skiing, chose a warm up option — perhaps the jacuzzi tub, steam shower or even a cedar lined sauna! With resort like amenities, breathtaking views and amazing wood works throughout, the savvy buyer will recognize this home as a worthy investment in even the toughest of markets.
Offered at $1,575,000

North Upper Truckee Neighborhood Profile
December 12, 2008
This is a fairly easy neighborhood to write about, because my family and I happen to live here. We’ve actually built a couple of homes for ourselves off of North Upper Truckee for a variety of reasons. For one, this area is Tahoe to us. The entire area is nestled up against Echo Summit & Angora Ridge and also close to the Truckee River, which offers endless recreation for those nearby. My two beautiful daughters can hit a trail on their bikes, cross country skis or snowmobiles right down the street. Of course we see a bit more snowfall out here, but it never poses a major problem. All you need is a decent snow blower and 4-wheel drive and you’re fine. In fact, a much higher percentage of locals live in this area, which leads me to another important reason for living in this area.I don’t want my kids to grow up in an area surrounded by vacation homes. They need other families around them to enjoy their day to day activities with. One big draw to this area for families is the elementary school nearby; The Lake Tahoe Environmental Science Magnet School. Currently, this school is the highest ranking school in both academics and attendance in the school district. To learn more about our local schools, visit http://www.ltusd.org/.
Most of the people living in this area are blue collar workers, such as teachers, firefighters, contractors and more. They take pride in their homes and their families and it shows. When compared with the rest of South Lake Tahoe real estate, homes in NUT have always ranked well in median home values. It’s never the highest in value, because of it’s distance to tourist amenities like the lake and casinos, but it’s not always about ROI, it’s about a lifestyle choice. Please, come see for yourselves.
