Bijou 1 & 2

The Bijou neighborhood is divided into two areas known as Bijou 1 & Bijou 2. Bijou 1 is centrally located in the middle of town and makes up the neighborhood surrounding Ski Run. This gives residents easy access to Heavenly, Ski Run Marina amenities, local businesses, the summer farmers market and more. Bijou 2 is a little pocket neighborhood tucked just behind HWY 50 along Johnson Blvd & Rufus Allen. Not only do you get to enjoy the amenities of Bijou 1, the Bijou Golf Course and quick lake access within walking distance, but you can also walk to the middle school, recreational center, ball fields, library and more.

Bijou 2 is the first residential neighborhood of South Lake Tahoe and features predominantly cute cabins and chalets. Though due to the popularity of vacation rentals, there are some newer, larger and more modern homes located in here. Bijou 1 has a vast mix of properties including classic chalets, condos, multifamily and new construction. These two areas are great for people who want to be in the middle of everything and have quick access to beaches, skiing, nightlife and trails. While Bijou 2 is a smaller pocket neighborhood and homes for sale in Lake Tahoe usually move pretty quickly, these are two areas within the city limits that usually have more affordable price points. If you are interested in homes for sale in Lake Tahoe in this area, the average sold price for Bijou 1 was around $425,000 and the average sold price for Bijou 2 was around $553,000. These are the prices as of summer 2020.
