Shaped after the intersection of HWY 89, HWY 50 and Lake Tahoe Blvd is the neighborhood known as The “Y”. Most of the homes in this area are older and built between the 1950’s and 1970’s and also quite affordable. There are condos, multifamily and single-family residences available in this area.
This is at the other end of town away from the casino core and while frequented by tourists and visitors alike, lots of locals can be found running errands and spending time on this end of South Lake Tahoe. And for good reason! Not only does it offer quick access to hot spots like Camp Richardson, Kiva, Pope, Baldwin, Fallen Leaf Lake, Valhalla and Emerald Bay but it also features popular businesses as well. Places like Verde, AleWorx, Raley’s, Starbucks, Grass Roots, TJ Maxx, Sonney’s BBQ, Blue Zone, Bevmo and many more neighbor each other or are just across the street. The high school is also in this area as is the public transportation hub.
The average sold price for this neighborhood as of summer 2020 was around $370,000.
